Happy Sunday!

It’s been awhile since I’ve had an opportunity to write a letter for the bulletin! It’s been great being back after my retreat and Thanksgiving. Thank you so much to everyone who kept me in your prayers. This Sunday, though it is December 8th, we will celebrate the Second Sunday of Advent. Monday, December 9th, will be the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and it IS a Holy Day of Obligation. We will have four Masses: 6:30am at OLG, 8:15am at SFdA, 12:15pm at SFdA, and 5:30pm at SFdA.

This coming Friday, the 13th, at 7:30pm we will once more host a concert at Nativity to benefit the restoration project. It is called “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” and we will be organizing in conjunction with the Sedona Academy of Chamber Singers. I am incredibly grateful to them for volunteering their time to help us offer such a beautiful evening. The nine lessons refer to different readings from salvation history leading up to the Incarnation. We hope you can join us!

I want to offer a special word of thanks to our Knights of Columbus. They are continuously a strong support of the parish throughout the year. You might see them at Mass ushering, or afterwards helping with donuts or making pancakes and burritos, but they do much more as well. They meet regularly to share their faith and organize events to serve in the community. They are also always willing to offer support whenever there are special liturgical events. If you are a gentleman of the parish and are looking for a way to be involved, I highly recommend checking out the Knights of Columbus.

¡Ha pasado un tiempo ya desde que tuve la oportunidad de escribir una carta para el boletín! Ha sido fantástico estar de regreso después de mi retiro y el Día de Acción de Gracias. Muchas gracias a todos los que me tuvieron en sus oraciones. Este domingo, aunque es 8 de diciembre, celebraremos el Segundo Domingo de Adviento. Mañana, 9 de diciembre, será la Solemnidad de la Inmaculada Concepción y es un Día Santo de Obligación. Tendremos cuatro misas: 6:30am en OLG, 8:15am en SFdA, 12:15pm en SFdA y 5:30pm en SFdA.

El próximo viernes 13, a las 7:30pm, una vez más organizaremos un concierto en la Natividad para beneficiar el proyecto de restauración. Se llama "Un Festival de Nueve Lecciones y Villancicos" y lo organizaremos en conjunto con la Academia de Cantantes de Cámara de Sedona. Estoy increíblemente agradecido con ellos por ofrecer su tiempo como voluntarios para ayudarnos a ofrecer una velada tan hermosa. Las nueve lecciones se refieren a diferentes lecturas de la historia de la salvación que conducen a la Encarnación. ¡Esperamos que puedan acompañarnos!

Quiero ofrecer unas palabras especiales de agradecimiento a nuestros Caballeros de Colón. Son un apoyo constante y fuerte para la parroquia durante todo el año. Es posible que los vean en la Misa acomodando a los fieles, o después ayudando con las donas o haciendo panqueques y burritos, pero también hacen mucho más. Se reúnen regularmente para compartir su fe y organizar eventos para servir a la comunidad. También están siempre dispuestos a ofrecer apoyo cuando hay eventos litúrgicos especiales. Si eres un caballero de la parroquia y estás buscando una manera de participar, te recomiendo que consultes a los Caballeros de Colón.
