Happy Sunday! This weekend we are sad to say farewell to Fr. Michael. It has been a great joy to serve alongside him these past two years. His last Mass will be the Spanish Mass on Sunday. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins his new assignment as the parochial vicar at St. Anne parish in Gilbert. With his departure comes the arrival of the newly ordained Fr. Jeff Pooley. He will be joining us starting July 1. It is a great joy to welcome him and to have our parish be his first assignment as a priest. I certainly know how much of a gift it was to start my priestly ministry here in 2016 and I know Fr. Pooley will experience the same. Thank you for offering him such a warm welcome.

This week we also wish Anna Hoffman a happy retirement. It is incredibly bittersweet to see Anna retire after being the parish manager here for 27 years! As many of you know, Anna was instrumental in the building of our current facility and helping unite our Catholic community here on the hill. If you see her around please thank her for her many years of service. She is a great example of selfless service and even as she enters retirement she still has many ways that she is excited to volunteer in the parish so you will certainly still see a lot of her. Congratulations Anna!

Next weekend is the July 4th weekend. We will keep our normal Saturday schedule of 8:15am Mass, 9:00am confessions, and 4:30pm vigil Mass. I pray everyone has a joyful and safe weekend as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our great nation.

¡Feliz domingo! Este fin de semana nos entristece despedir al P. Michael. Ha sido una gran alegría servir junto a el durante estos dos últimos años. Su última Misa será la Misa en español de este domingo. Por favor, ténganlo presente en sus oraciones al comenzar su nueva misión como vicario parroquial en la parroquia de Santa Ana, en Gilbert. Con su partida llega el recien ordenado P.Jeff Pooley, quien se incorporará a partir del 1 de julio. Es una gran alegría darle la bienvenida y que nuestra parroquia sea su primer destino como sacerdote. Sé muy bien lo valioso que fue comenzar mi ministerio sacerdotal aquí en 2016, y sé que el P. Pooley vivirá la misma experiencia. Gracias por brindarle una bienvenida tan cálida.

Esta semana tambien deseamos una feliz jubilación a Anna Hoffman. ¡Es una sensacion agridulce ver a Anna jubilarse tras haber sido la administradora de la parroquia aquí durante 27 años! Como muchos de ustedes saben, Anna desempeñó un papel fundamental en la construcción de nuestras instalaciones actuales y en la unión de nuestra comunidad católica aquí en la colina. Si la ven por ahí, por favor agradézcanle sus muchos años de servicio. Ella es un gran ejemplo de servicio desinteresado; incluso al jubilarse, sigue entusiasmada por colaborar como voluntaria en la parroquia de diversas maneras, así que sin duda la seguire- mos viendo con frecuencia. ¡Felicidades, Anna!

El próximo fin de semana es el del 4 de julio. Mantendremos nuestro horario habitual de los sabados: Misa a las 8:15am, confesiones a las 9:00am y Misa de vigilia a las 4:30pm. Rezo para que todos tengan un fin de semana alegre y seguro mientras celebramos el 250.° aniversario de nuestra gran nación.
