Happy Sunday!

Spring is doing it's best to break through and it is wonderful! I hope everyone is enjoying a bit of the warmer weather. It is great seeing our newly confirmed receiving Holy Communion regularly now! What a gift to our parish and the Church!

Last weekend there was a flyer in the bulletin for our parish pilgrimage to Italy. It is going to be a wonderful time. Rome and Assisi are always wonderful pilgrimage sites. We will also be going to visit San Giovanni Rotondo where Padre Pio exercised his ministry and where he is now buried. This is very neat since it can be difficult to get there traveling on your own. Next weekend is our big school fundraiser—the Blue and White Banquet. It has not been able to happen the last few years but we are very excited to be bringing it back. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our school and have a great time doing it!

If you haven’t already, please mark June 1 on your calendars for the ordination of Deacon Joseph to the priesthood. His ordination will be at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas parish in Avondale.

¡La primavera ya está aquí y es maravillosa! Espero que todos estén disfrutando un poco del clima más cálido. ¡Es fantástico ver a nuestros recién confirmados recibir la Sagrada Comunión con regularidad ahora! ¡Qué regalo para nuestra parroquia y la Iglesia!
El fin de semana pasado hubo un volante en el boletín de nuestra peregrinación parroquial a Italia. Va a ser un tiempo maravilloso. Roma y Asís son siempre maravillosos lugares de peregrinación. También visitaremos San Giovanni Rotondo donde el Padre Pío ejerció su ministerio y donde ahora está enterrado. Esto es muy interesante ya que puede ser difícil llegar viajando solo. El próximo fin de semana es nuestra gran recaudación de fondos para la escuela, Blue and White. No ha podido suceder en los últimos años, pero estamos muy emocionados de traerlo de vuelta. ¡Esta es una maravillosa oportunidad para apoyar a nuestra escuela y pasar un buen rato haciéndolo!

Si aún no lo ha hecho, marque el 1 de junio en sus calendarios para la ordenación del diácono Joseph al sacerdocio. Su ordenación será a las 10 a.m. en la parroquia de Santo Tomás de Aquino en Avondale.
